Disability Pride PA partners with Oakland For All to a weekend of disability celebration!

Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 11:00am-4:00pm

Saturday’s festivities will begin with stage performances, emceed by comedian Gab Bonesso, and a parade around Schenley Plaza at 11:00am.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Rory Cooper, Founding Director and VA Senior Research Career Scientist of the Human Engineering Research Laboratories (HERL) at the University of Pittsburgh. Other speakers include Nyota Robinson, Cori Fraser, Libby Powers, State Rep Dan Miller, and WD ‘Bill’ Chrisner.

Stage performances include Gab Bonesso (comedy) and musicians, Ryan Gilfillian, The Elemental, and Soul Raydio. Sketches of local disability rights advocates by artist Tammi Morton will be displayed at the Western Pennsylvania Disability History and Action Consortium table. Accessible games/activities, a sensory-friendly chill zone, and vendors will be present throughout the festival.

Vicki Landers, Founder and Executive Director of Disability Pride PA, shared that “we are thrilled to spend a fun weekend with our friends and community in Pittsburgh!” Those who are interested in attending and/or volunteering can register at https://tinyurl.com/DPPGH23.
