Accessible Voting Resources

10/24/2024

Stickers that say I voted

For many years, people with disabilities were often excluded from the voting process due to physical, societal, and legal barriers. Despite the progress made, challenges still remain. Understanding the importance of voting and ensuring that every voice is heard is vital, especially in preserving the rights for future generations. History shows how the determination of people with disabilities has led to expanded rights, but it’s important to recognize that there’s still work to be done. Read a more detailed history of voting rights for people with disabilities here.

We compiled some resources that may be helpful:

  • Accessible Voting: Explore accessible voting methods, such as curbside voting and alternative ballots.
  • Authorize a Designated Agent: Designate someone to help you with your mail-in or absentee ballot.
  • Mail Ballots Before Election Day: Learn how to submit your mail-in ballot ahead of time.
  • PA Voting Tutorial: A helpful video guide on how to vote in Pennsylvania.
  • Voter Support Hub: Access a comprehensive hub of voter resources, including instructions for voting by mail or in person.
  • Check My Registration Status: Ensure you’re registered and ready to vote.
  • Polling Place Information: Find your polling place and check accessibility options.
  • PA Regional Candidate Forum: Stay informed by learning about candidates in your Pennsylvania region before Election Day.

Make sure you’re prepared to vote and let nothing stand in your way this November!

(We are grateful to the Consortium’s Steering Committee member Laura Power for sharing their favorite voting resources with us!)
