Black History Month invites us to reflect on histories that are too often overlooked, including the stories of Black people with disabilities whose advocacy, resilience, and leadership have helped shape movements for justice and accessibility.
Through our “Intersection of Race & Disability” project, the Consortium continues to highlight narratives of lived experience, activism, and community impact. These stories deepen our understanding of how race and disability intersect, revealing both systemic barriers and extraordinary contributions.
Recognizing these histories is essential to advancing equity. By learning from the past, we strengthen our collective commitment to building a more inclusive, accessible, and just future for all.
